There is an old-fashioned view that the film and media industry is an alternative, or even unstable career choice. This is certainly not the case. Today, major corporations including Reliance and Mahindra & Mahindra have filmmaking departments. The media industry is booming and the National Skill Development Corporation estimates that the industry will require an additional 3 million trained staff in the next decade.
