Bala has an M.FA. in Screenwriting from the University of California-Riverside, an M.A. in Theater & Cinema from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in Theater Arts from the Hyderabad Central University.
For the past 19 years, in the United States, Bala taught in Film & Theater Departments, conducted workshops in various educational settings such as special schools and correctional facilities. As a film professional, Bala has written/produced/directed award winning English language films, held numerous crew positions such as Casting Director, Script Consultant, Actor Trainer, Executive Producer & Co-producer. Bala consults for foreign writers, directors and producers who want to start their careers in Hollywood. Bala founded 160-H Productions-Hollywood, and has been running it successfully since 2001.
Bala divides his time between USA and India, actively undertaking production endeavors and teaching.
ARVIND RANJAN DAS
Arvind has a PG Diploma in Editing from FTII, Pune. Arvind has gained experience working as Principal, Senior Faculty, Subject Matter Expert, Creative Head, Content Head, Producer, Director, Editor, Writer, Lyricist, News Reader, Announcer and Actor in the 25 years that he has worked in. He also has 10 years of teaching experience in the field of Film, Tv & Media.
Prior to joining us, Arvind had been teaching Film Making at Mumbai Film Academy, Mumbai. He is also the writer & director of the Hindi feature films, ‘GHAZAB NAGARIYA’ Produced by ANTARANG and ‘SYSTEM’ starring Somali Bendre, Aryan Vaid and Gulshan Grover produced by Jhamu Sughand Production. He was the Producer & Director of TV shows ‘Hollywood se Bollywood’ on Zee TV, ‘Request Your Best’ and ‘Sargam Sadabahar’ on Doordarshan. Not just that, but Arvind was also the Senior Director for Care World and ATN Channel.
Ashok has a Diploma in Film Making from Digital Academy Mumbai and holds a rich experience in teaching screenwriting for Films & T.V at the university level and possesses professional screenwriting experience for 6 years across TV and film formats.
He began as a co-director for promos and a docu-fiction narrative, on the empowerment of women for Asmitha Microfin Ltd. He has worked at Design Street / Hema Advertising Agency, Blue Frog Media Pvt. Ltd., and Real Channel Turner Entertainment Group.
He has scripted a Telugu Film Anantham which narrates three parallel stories involving three different urban women and their love stories. He also scripted a feature film that’s going to be co-produced by Sharman Joshi (of 3 Idiots fame) in Hindi.
Milind Mahale is a product of FTII, Pune, who has an eye for camera which shows in his vast experience in award winning art house cinema industry.
Milind Mahale is an Independent Cinematographer and Cameraman with over 17 years of professional Film & TV industry experience in all aspects of Film and Television production. Along with this, he also has 7 years of teaching experience in the same.
Prior to joining us here, he was part of the faculty for Cinematography at Digital Academy – The Film School, Mumbai, Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Production, in the department of Film & Television, School of Creative Arts, College of Humanities and Education at Fiji National University (FNU), Faculty in Cinematography at ICE (Institute of Creative Excellence) to name a few.
He has also been part of international films like the French Production, ‘The call of the yeti’ (‘Yeti, le cri de l’homme des neiges’) and the Swedish Production, ‘A human life’ (‘Ettmänskligt liv’). Milind has also worked as Operative Cameraman in multiple camera setups & also assisted in lighting for Talk-shows, Stand-up comedy shows, Chat-shows and Reality-shows like ‘Big Switch’, ‘Tele-dost’, ‘Great Indian Laughter Champions’, and ‘Iss Jungle Se MujheBachao’.
MNVVK Chaitanya has 14 years experience in the field of learning and development, academics, media education, policy research and management education. His role in the media field has traversed many areas and he has conceptualized, re-strategized, designed and implemented OD, OE, talent management, leadership development and capability building initiatives to enable businesses for enhanced performance and achievement of planned objectives.
During his work tenure he has been involved in facilitating lectures in select economic subjects, supervising thesis projects at graduate and under graduate levels, updating the academic curriculum, assisting senior faculty in book writing, sourcing, and copy editing research articles for IER journal and handling academic administration. In an editorial role, he has worked on two new launches (B&E and TSI magazines) and provided editorial ideation to columns and sections relating to economics and political economy.
He has worked as faculty previously at Centum Learning Limited, at IIPM, Hyderabad and prior to joining us; he has worked as Manager, Learning & Development at KSK Energy Ventures Limited. Chaitanya has completed his M.A. in Sociology from Annamalai University.
P. SASI BHUSHAN
Pallakonda Sasi Bhushan, Faculty – Animation, has a decade of experience in visual effects and CGI and has worked on TV shows and advertisements.
Sasi has a Masters Certification in 3D animation from the MUV Institute of Digital Arts, Chennai.
Prior to joining AISFM, he worked as Sr. Faculty at his alma mater Panchagenya Animation and VFX College. He has worked with ad film makers like Adverz, on TV shows like Connection, Super Singers, MAA Television Awards for MAA TV and independently on solo projects.
He loves reading books and watching movies and believes in the saying “nothing is easy, nothing is impossible”. His motto is; ‘learn from your mistakes, because the more you learn, the more you grow.’ And he sincerely believes that anyone can become a great artist but a great artist can come from anywhere.
A Masters in English Literature, Padma Ramesh has more than 20 years’ experience in fields as diverse as media, teaching and training. She was the editor of The Hindu – Opportunities, the Wednesday supplement of The Hindu for 7 years, as well as Appointment Times – a career supplement of Khaleej Times, Dubai.
She also has to her credit a diploma in Film Appreciation from FTII – Pune. Her association with the print media has been an extraordinary 15 years, during which time she was associated in various capacities with Newstime, Indian Express and the Times of India.
Padma taught Functional and Business English to the MS students of IT programme across Andhra Pradesh. She also worked as the head of Corporate Communications of Byrraju Foundation (CSR wing of Satyam), at Vanpic Industries; and as a Professor of Business Communication and Soft Skills at IBS, Hyderabad.
She is also a recipient of Vijayavani National Education-Leadership Awards for ‘Best Teacher- Mass Communication’.
Rima has done her English Honors from Calcutta University and Post Graduate Diploma in Television Production from Hyderabad Central University.
Rima has been involved in post-production and production of television programs for the last 18 years in Calcutta and Hyderabad. She edited the first ever children’s fiction series produced in the high definition format for the first time in India.
She enjoys working on films with a social cause such as, Quamer – Working to Live, which is about an 11-year-old girl who lives with her family in one room in the Old City, Hyderabad. The film won the Audience Prize at Lucas Children’s Film Festival, Germany, Audience Prize at Dubai International Film Festival – 2007, Audience Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and was also nominated for the 21st International Documentary Film Festival, Amsterdam.
Rima’s portfolio includes broadcast programs, corporate, promotional, documentaries and ad films in addition to new media formats. She was the post production head and senior editor for Joyce Meyer Ministries, Asia (2002 – 2013), and also set up a post-production unit consisting of ten edit, three audio recording suites with Pro Tools and one graphic station.
Rima has also worked as an Editor with Padmalaya Studios, Hyderabad and at Ramoji Film City for ETV Bangla/ Marathi and is proficient with Avid, Final Cut Pro, Media 100, Sony ES-5, Sony ES-7, DPS Velocity, Softimage DS, Discrete Edit and Analog Edit Consoles. Earlier in her career she worked as a freelance copywriter and features writer for The Statesman, Calcutta.
Sanjeev Kumar has more than 29 years of experience as a sound engineer and designer. He is a graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India (Pune), 1986 batch, and has specialized in Sound Recording and Engineering. Having worked as a consultant for Westrex India in Mumbai, he established his own sound recording company in Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
His profile boosts of an array of national and international projects, including a fusion pop album with the queen of Italian pop, Antonella Ruggiero where he worked as a co-music composer.
He was also a part of Prasad Labs and Shabdalaya Studios as a chief sound recordist; worked on an assortment of Bollywood and Tollywood films. His acute knowledge of acoustics and studio design helped him in designing a state-of-the-art sound studio for Roberto Colombo in Milan, and numerous other film recording studios in Hyderabad.
Sanjeev Kumar has also composed songs for various playback singers such as Alka Yagnik and background scores for many telefilms for CBN and Joyce Meyer Ministries, USA.
A Post Graduate in cinema from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Sayandeb Mukherjee worked as an associate mix engineer, sound effects designer and sound designer. For over 15 years. His projects include films in Bengali, Telugu and Hindi, notably BombaiyerBombetey, SonthaOoru, Cash, Adbhutam, Banshiwala and Yatra. In the recent past he has worked at Ramoji Film City as an associate mixing engineer.
Sayandeb was awarded an Independent Research Fellowship by SARAI under CSDS (Centre for the Study of Developing Societies) for his venture called The Space Interlude. He was also credited as a sound designer for the diploma film Unmathabudham Jagath which was selected and recognized by the Oberhausen Film Festival, Munich International Film Festival and IFFI.
Sayandeb has also taught at the Ramoji Film City Film School, Research Engineers Pvt. Ltd and has managed live recordings for numerous concerts, cultural programs and reality shows on television.
SIVA KRISHNA PAVAN
Siva Krishna Pavan has a degree in Computer Science & Diploma in Animation & VFX from MUV Institute of Digital Arts. He has worked with MAAC & Frameboxx as a Technical Head for various regions, and handled various commercial 3D and gaming projects.
His role at AISFM is multi-faceted which ranges from research, analysis, curriculum design to providing hands-on training in animation & vfx. Siva’s hobbies are photography, listening to music and reading books. He has also worked on a National Award winning film titled Kanji, starring Chiranjeevi.
Soumen has over 12 years of experience as a Sound Designer & teacher. He has previously worked on various projects in the areas of arranging, sequencing, recording, editing, mixing, composing and playing guitar! Soumen has a diploma in sound recording and sound design from the Ramoji Academy of Film and Television.
Tawheed Rehman is a teacher, designer and photographer all rolled into one. Armed with a Mass Communication & Journalism degree from the University of Kashmir, Tawheed has worked at E TV, ICFAI University Press and as an analyst at YouTube and Google, Hyderabad.
He has also worked as a News Producer & Web Designer apart from being a Guest Faculty at the Department of Communications, University of Hyderabad.
Prior to AISFM, he was working as an Assistant Professor at the Islamic University of Science & Technology at Kashmir, teaching online journalism, media analysis and photo journalism besides providing video editing and layout designing training to students.
DR. VIJAYA RAGHAVA THATIPARTHY
Dr. Vijaya Raghava Thatiparthy has a Ph.D in Theatre Arts from University of Hyderabad and an M.A. in Theatre Arts from Osmania University.
Dr Raghava is Faculty of Acting at AISFM, has a decade of experience in stage and film acting and has worked at Association of Rural Theatre, Hyderabad and at CREO Valley School of Film & Television, Bangalore.
Raghava has expertise in personality training, various acting and performance styles, acting principles and techniques. He has worked with students, villagers, orphanage children, inmates of central prisons and NGO’s. He has also designed and developed the arts education syllabus for the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Councils Educational and Research Institutes (SCERT’s). Coming to television and film, he has trained artists like Arvind Krishna, Kriti Sanon, Vishnu Reddy, Sampoornesh Babu and many others.
Dr. Raghava has been awarded the A.P. State Nandi Award in the field of theatre in 2011 and the Bharat Jyoti in the field of Rural Theatre in 2013. Prior to joining us here, he worked as Advisor, CISD and Drama Network Academy, Hyderabad.
VIVEK KUMAR PANDEY
Vivek Kumar Pandey is the Animation Faculty for BFA, MFA and Diploma programs. He teaches basic and advanced drawing, conceptual art, perspective, storyboard &layout design, portfolio, preproduction, composition, sequential drawing and key frame animation amongst others at AISFM.
Vive is a Gold Medalist in Bachelor of Fine Arts (drawing and painting) from the Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh.
Prior to joining AISFM, Vive has worked at DQ Entertainment International Limited as a professional trainer, animator, quality controller, layout artist and concept designer. He has also worked in over 40 TV series in over 450 episodes at various levels.
DR. B.K. KIRON KOMAR
B.K. Kiron Komar is a director who is passionate about entertainment, media and teaching. His vast career graph has seen him work in the fields of direction, acting and dubbing for films, television and theatre, radio and documentaries, ad and short films. He directed Abhi, a Telugu feature film, tele films Aayudam and Bhadramkoduko and theatre plays like Gograhanam, Adisangathi, Naa Laga Endaro, Pachani Samsaram, Janma Bhoomi, Cinema Cinema. He has also worked as a dubbing artist in many movies such as Anaganagaoka Roju, Sindooram, Master, Hitler, Ninne Pelladatha, Balaramayanam.
Kiron has acted in the lead role for serials like Veedanineedalu, PranayaPrabhandam, Aakrandanda, Neera Prapancham and in theatre plays like Bapuji Brathike Vunte, Gograhanam, Kagitham Puli, Ammadu Enduku, Edustunnav, Chavu etc.
As a faculty member he has worked Rama Naidu Film School, Telugu University, Hyderabad Central University and N G Ranga (Jayashankar) University, Osmania University amongst many other schools.
Debkanta Chakrabarti’s entry into the world of cinema started with his film studies in the Film and Television Institute of India, where he specialized in film and video editing and later on in cinema-specialisation in editing.
A film that he worked on ‘Silence’ was appreciated by painter Maqbul Fida Hussein and was specially screened during the 1987 IFFI Indian Panaroma section. His stints with awards started with ‘Jesus 71’ a Bengali feature film of Bangladesh that won the acclaimed Best Editing Award in Bangladesh; then with a Bengali serial called ‘Bela Abela’ which received the Ujjala Anadoloke Best Editor Award; followed by been part of the team, as a Editor, for the film ‘Krantikaal’ that won the prestigious National Award in three categories. Recently he won the ‘Uttam Kumar Mahasammanana’ State Recognization Award from the Ministry of Information & Cultural Affairs, West Bengal for his ongoing contribution in both television and film editing.
Companies he has worked with earlier include Doordarshan, Zee Bangla, ETV Bangla, UK & USA based TV companies, apart from been the Chief Editor for innumerable films, short features, corporate films and documentaries; and has also worked with directors like Sekhar Das, Ashoke Vishwanathan, Shyamal Sengupta, Raja Dasgupta, Moloy Bhattacharya, Anjan Dutt, Raja Sen, Subhadra Chowdhury, Arvind Sinha and Amaresh Chakraborty to name a few. He was also the Chief Associate Editor for the film ‘Ocean Of An Old Man’ directed and edited by Late Rajesh Shera, which won the Breda Film Festival Award.
He directed and edited eight episodes of ‘Sidelights from Italia ’90’ a programme on World Cup Football in 1990, which were uploaded from Rome and Doordarshan, India used to show it prior to and after the matches between teams like Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brazil et al. In 1994 he produced a 42 x 150 seconds ‘Timex Spot The Striker Contest’ in association with Procam Sports International and directed and edited a 135-episode Bengali television serial based on a novel written by Late Sunil Gangopadhyay ‘Purbo – Paschim’ in 2001-2002. He has also taught and conducted workshops at FTII, Chitrabani, Pailan School of International Studies, AISFM and Loyala Academy, Hyderabad.
Recently he has been an associate creative producer for a Hollywood production entitled ‘69 The Reality In US’ on behalf of Sepher Screen Production Films which was executed and performed in Mauritius, Milan in Italy and later in Mumbai too.
Satyendra Mohanty is a graduate from the Film TV Institute of India, Pune, with experience of over three decades in film and media. Committed to cinema and television the roles he has played are an Editor, Director, Producer, TV Programmer, Administrator, Consultant in cinema and television and Teaching.
He has edited National Award winning feature films. Apart from this, he has won awards for achievement in film and television. He has worked as the Chief Producer of news and current affairs in ETV News (Bangla and Odia). He also has produced, directed and edited many television programs (fictions and documentaries) in Hindi, Oriya, Bengali and English for Doordarshan, ETV Bangla, ETV Odia and the Films Division of Government of India.
Prior to joining us here, he was the Head of Department of Film & Video Editing in Ramoji Academy of Film & Television, Hyderabad and has rendered services as Visiting Faculty, Examiner, Selector and Academic Advisor in different film schools and institutions in India like Satayjit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata; Jyoti Chitraban Film & TV Institute, Guwahati; Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Roopkala Kendro, Kolkata.
Srinivas Tallapalli is the Faculty for Cinematography & Photography and has experience in Cinematography, Photography, Content Creation, TVC, VFX Production and Feature Films.
He has worked in the IT Industry for over 15 years across organizations like IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Polaris Software Lab. He has given guest lectures in cinematography, was involved with Mumbai Academy of Media Arts and worked as Associate Cinematographer for Telugu regional films. Prior to joining us he was Content Executive/Cinematographer at Reliance Big Entertainment (FunOnGo). He has done his PG Diploma in TV Production with Distinction from Central University and graduation in Engineering from Nagarjuna University. He also has Project Management Certification from PMI, Florida.
He has been pursuing Cinematography and Content Creation for five years and has over 13 years of Project Management experience in Digital IT Industry. In Cinematography he has varied expertise with Blackmagic 4K workflow, Sony f65, Arri, RED and DSLR Cameras along with VFX, Editing and Digital Imaging.
Nitin Mane is the Faculty for Acting & Outreach Program. He has done his MFA in Acting from the Louisiana State University and MTA Theatre from Mumbai University, April 2010. A writer, teacher and artist; Nitin has taught Introduction to Acting at Louisiana State University. He has conducted various workshops on acting techniques and theatre; and has performed on stage at Sangeet Kala Kendra, Mumbai and Swine Palace, Baton Rouge, USA.
He has certification from The Society of Indian Fight Directors – Basic Certification in Single Sword, British Academy of Dramatic Combat – Basic Certification in Single Sword, Rapier and Dagger and Hand-to-Hand Combat. As a writer he has written one-act and short plays; A Man Without, a solo performance; Incoherence, a one act play and Jeevan Asha, a short play. And as an artist, he has performed at Swine Palace, LSU; Rangpeeth, Mumbai and Sangeet Kala Kendra, Mumbai amongst many others.
His is interested in teaching courses like Meisner technique, Stanislavski method and Indian classical drama – Rasa and Bhava; and his research interests lie in performance histories, post colonial drama, evolution of ancient arts, dialects of English, Hindi and Marathi et al.
Amit Prasad is equipped with in-depth theoretical and practical experience in the art and functioning of the film industry. His expertise lies in story development and conceptualization, screenplay development and professional analysis; and in the areas of film production, film acquisition, international sales and distribution.
Amit has worked at More Media, Los Angeles; Eclectic Pictures, California; Vuguru Productions, California and Applied Art Productions, California as Script Supervisor, Creative Assistant, Script Development/Acquisitions and Distribution Executive.
Prior to joining us here, he established an independent production company Videlo Pictures, Hollywood and was also its writer and producer. Amit has completed his Bachelor of Commerce from Andhra University and is an Associate of Science in Film (screenwriting and direction) from the Los Angeles Film School. He has trained under American film industry stalwarts like Michael Eisner (ex-Disney President), Darren Lynn Bousman (Director, Saw 2), Brett Leonard (Director, Lawnmower Man), Valerie Mccaffrey (Producer, American HistoryX) in the art of Story Development and Screen Writing.
Arun John’s main objective it to be a good ‘storyteller’ and to be a master purveyor of information. Currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Communication from the Department of Communication, Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad he has worked as an assistant professor at St. Francis College for Women. Armed with a JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in Mass Communication and Journalism he is currently a Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
He has worked as a research assistant for the UNESCO Chair on Community Media and was part of the UNESCO Chair on Community Media team and was a field coordinator for an international workshop on Communication for Development. He also interned with the United Nations Development Programme, New Delhi.
He likes teaching, reading and writing, especially on youth related articles and about contemporary culture, politics, music and the society, ICT, ICTs in education, Livelihood development, Discourse on Development Communication, Culture, Globalization, Movies, Pop culture.
DR. BHARAT BHUSHAN SINGH
Bharat Bhushan Singh has over 20 years of organizational experience (Indian Air Force) and nearly a decade of academic experience in teaching, mentoring, academic administration, covering all aspects of its functionality. He has provided leadership, in teaching, academic coordination, academic discipline, course development and evaluation, to achieve overall academic excellence.
A professional with a Ph.D. in Management, aspiring to take up higher responsibilities and challenges in education and training industry; his skills are presentations, teaching and training, event organizing and academic administration. He has worked in the government sector (IAF) operations and as an instructor involved in teaching and training in the field of IT, technical training and general management.
He has worked at Vishwa Wishwani Institute of Systems & Management, Malla Reddy Institute of Management, ICFAI University and Loyala Academy during his career and has taught digital marketing, advertising and communication, consumer behaviour, marketing management, brand management, service marketing and principals of management, business research methods and managerial communications in the fields of marketing and general management.
DR. DIANA MONTEIRO
Dr. Diana Monteiro obtained her Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, USA and worked as a licensed psychologist in USA. She started The Hyderabad Academy of Psychology in 2009 and with her team of hand-picked counsellors, they practice counselling, conduct courses and workshops and supervise other counsellors-in-training.
Dr. Monteiro conducts out-reach programs both locally and internationally and her seminars and workshops have covered a variety of topics. Her specialty areas include working with adolescents and adults, suicide prevention, relationship concerns, communication and multicultural issues. She is adept at treating mental health issues from a positive psychology framework and uses strength-based approaches in counselling. Her philosophy of training is based on integrity, ethics and working hard and playing hard to ensure good all round development.
PREMA MALINI VANAM
Prema Malini Vanam has over 20 years of experience spanning advertising agencies, PR firms, TV, journalism and documentary film making. She is a two-time Nandi award winning TV Journalist, with deep expertise in creating socially relevant television documentaries and news programming. She is an accomplished communications and public relations professional with key and enduring relationships across the political, media and government establishment.
She has worked in Touchstone Advertising Agency, Surya Ad Systems Pvt. Ltd., Frontline Advertising Agency. Later she worked in TV 9 as a principle correspondent and input editor and was responsible for conceptualizing story boards, short films and documentaries to enhance genuineness in news.
Prema won the Nandi Award and the NT Award (National Award in electronic news media) for Best TV Documentary filmmaker. She graduated from St. Ann’s College.
Nimit transformed his career from an IT professional into an up-and-coming photographer, driven by talent and creative passion. His photographic work has been published in magazines, newspapers and many websites.
He now specialises in actor’s portfolios and wedding photography in addition to his teaching work at AISFM. Nimit has a Bachelor’s in Engineering and a Certificate in Digital Photography.
M. SASI KIRAN REDDY
Sasi is an engineer who went on to pursue his Post Graduation in Communication from Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad. Sasi Kiran’s core subjects include Media and Culture, Advertising Management, Account Planning, Digital Marketing and Communications Research.
With over five years of experience in marketing and project management across diverse sectors, Sasi moved to the education sector and now teaches marketing to Media MBA students at AISFM.
Sasi, also an entrepreneur and a renewable energy consultant in the past has worked on several solar power projects.
To be an effective teacher and trainer is Sri Lakshmi Ramu’s goal. Imparting knowledge and value education to better students’ aptitude and attitude is her objective. With an M.Com, M.Phil and MBA under her belt, she is now pursuing her Ph.D to add to her laurels. She is Faculty – Accounting for Film/Media.
She is currently working as Associate Professor in Roots Business School. Close to two decades as a teacher, she has worked in the past in CSI Bishop Appasamy College in Coimbatore, Fatima College in Madurai, SVPG College of Management, IIPM Hyderabad, IMT Ghaziabad, Sikkim Manipal University, ICFAI National College and others. Her areas of interest include counselling young adults on personality development and goal setting.
She was awarded the Best Faculty Member in ICFAI and the Best Teacher Award by Coimbatore Principals Association.
Bachimanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam Ravi is an Indian dialogue and story writer who works in the Telugu film industry. Associated with directors such as Boyapati Srinu, K. Raghavendra Rao, Srinu Vytla, Bhaskar, Kodi Ramakrishna in the past, he has written dialogues for movies such as Satyam, Munna, Khaidi Brothers, Ayodhya, Nayakudu, Vidhyardhi, Shankar, Dhana 51, Parugu, King and Jhummandi Naadam.
He has also written the story for Girl Friend, Shankar, Naayudamma and Kalyan Ram’s Jayeebhava. He assisted writer Posani Krishna Murali for many successful films like Sivayya, Seetharamaraju, Preyasi Raave, Snehithulu, Ayodhya Raamayya, Badhrachalam and many others. He turned director with the film Wanted in 2011.
He also co-wrote Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu, Iddarammayilatho and Devudu Chesina Manushulu along with Puri Jagannadh.
DR. GASHASH DESHE
Dr. Gashash Deshe is an attorney who specializes in International Copyright and Entertainment Law and has been a part of production, management and creativity on various productions.
Some productions he has worked on are Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, Joseph and the Amazing Technical Dream-Coat, The Representative Troup of the People’s Republic of China, The Prince and the Pauper and Bharati amongst many others.
DR. SRIKANTH IYENGAR
Dr. Srikanth Iyengar is an Indian director and actor based out of Hyderabad. His debut film, Stalemate, was about an oncologist who is treating a young girl suffering from cancer and through the course of her treatment realizes that he too is suffering from it.
He not only wrote and directed the film but he also played the role of the doctor. Dr. Iyengar has also directed plays, A Streetcar Named Desire and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Kaladhar Master is a choreographer in the Telugu film industry. He has worked on films like Keun Dunia Ru Asila Bandhu (Oriya), Venkatadri and Missing. He is also known for being the main assistant to Raghava Lawrence.
Kapil Suravaram is a Media Consultant with experience in a variety of media industries and holds expertise in business consulting for media companies, television productions and market research.
He has done Masters in Media Management from the Newhouse School of Syracuse University, NY, USA and also a Masters in Communications from SN School, University of Hyderabad, India.

Venkat Karunakar Uday also known as Karunakar is a master compositor and visual effects wizard. From digital compositing to visual effects, he has done it all. Language has no barriers here and he has worked in the Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and other film industries apart from Hollywood.

K. L. PRASAD
K.L. Prasad is a writer and an actor in the Telugu film industry. K.L. Prasad started out as an engineer and left his job in 1987 to enter the film industry. He is considered to be one of the best writers in the Telugu film industry today.
The renowned story-weaver has worked in many capacities like story writer, associate director, dialogue writer, screenplay writer, screenplay co-ordinator in films like Sankeertana, Magaadu, Desadrohulu, Srikaram, Jabilammapelli, Aatmabandham, Seetaratnamgari Abbai, Simhadri, Yemandi Aavida Vachindi etc.
Very passionate about cinema, as an actor he has acted in many movies, in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English languages, including Magaadu, Desadrohulu, Suryaputrulu, Nachachavule, Vedam, Mouna Ragam, Rajanna, Vaamam, Rock Fort, Bollywood Calling, Hyderabad Blues 2 and Teen Deewarien.
He has conducted screenplay classes as visiting faculty for Telugu University, Hyderabad and Madhu Film Institute, Hyderabad. He has also written articles on cinema in Telugu for Telugu University as part of their syllabus for film students.
A graduate from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, Madhu Mahankali is a noted director, cinematographer and producer. He has worked as the Director of Photography for numerous films and television series in both Hindi and Telugu.
As the Director of Photography; for television serials in Telugu and Hindi he has worked on Bangaru Chilaka, Yeh Ishq Nahin Aasaan, Nagme Ki Safar etc; for feature films he has worked on Assamese films like Abhimaan, Dawor, Rati Phula Phul and Jooj out of which Jooj won the National Award for Best Film. In Hindi and Telugu films, he has worked on Yugula Geetam, Ayyayyo Brahmayya, Preme Naa Praanam, Leader, Tuhi Meri Ganga, Gautama Buddha etc. He was also the director of photography, producer and director for a TV serial called Vishnu Mahima and Manchi Roju.
Known for his documentaries and in the advertising world, he has produced and directed innumerable advertisements, documentaries and corporate films for various companies like BHEL, ECIL, IICT, ITC, Microsoft, GE Capital Services, Nagarjuna Fertilizers, Priya Foods etc. His first full-length feature film as a Director was Parampara, which drew critical acclaim.
Madhu has also partaken as an independent filmmaker in several international film festivals like the Cannes, Durango Independent Film Festival (USA), Short Attention Span Digital Video Festival (USA) and Short Film Market at Clermont – Ferrand Film Festival in France. He won the Best Director award at the Hyderabad International Film Festival in 2007 and the Special Jury Award for Best Short Film at Festival Du Cinema De Paris in 2007.
MADHURA SREEDHAR REDDY
Madhura Sreedhar Reddy is a software engineer turned Director and Producer who works specifically in the Telugu film industry. He started his film career by establishing a music label Madhura Audio. He also owned one of the popular Telugu film magazines named Cinestar.
He turned director with the film Sneha Geetham in 2010 which he also wrote the story and screenplay for. It gained critical acclaim and he also received the Best Debut Director for Sneha Geetham.
His second directional venture was It’s My Love Story and then he directed and wrote the screenplay for Backbench Student, which introduced Tamil actor Mahat Raghavendra as main lead hero. He also produced Oka Manasu and Ladies & Gentlemen.
Kiran Kumar Reddy, more famously known as Mirchi Kiran, is an RJ (radio jockey), sound producer and writer. He works at Radio Mirchi and is popularly known for his show Breaking News Babu Rao. The radio jockey cum script-writer cum voice and man behind the sarcastically humorous radio character Babu Rao and Babji, also the creative head at Radio Mirchi (ENIL).
The writing talent with comedy as his forte made his debut in the Telugu film industry as a dialogue writer for Virinchi Verma’s Majnu. Having done his schooling in Anantapur and graduation in Hyderabad, Kiran worked as a sound engineer to get entry into Telugu film industry. Kiran Kumar has also written for the Telugu remake of the Hindi movie Hunterr and given a chance he doesn’t mind dabbling being a dubbing artiste too.
MOHAN KRISHNA INDRAGANTI
Mohan Krishna Indraganti is an award winning Telugu film director. His debut directorial venture Grahanam fetched him eleven awards including the National Film Award for Best First Film of a Director, the Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director and the Gollapudi Srinivas Award for Best First Film of a Director. The film was also showcased in the Indian Panorama Section of the 2005 International Film Festival of India. His later films Mayabazar, Ashta Chamma and Golconda High School were also praised highly. He won the Akkineni Award for Best Home-viewing Feature Film for director for Ashta Chamma too.
Mohana Krishna was born into an illustrious family of writers. His parents, Indraganti Srikanth Sarma and Janaki Bala were writers. His grandfather Indraganti Hanumachchasthri too is a famous writer who contributed a lot to Telugu literature. Since childhood he had a fascination towards fiction and has been an avid reader of literary works and also loved to discuss films with his uncle.
He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from York University. Other movies he has directed are Gentleman, Bandipotu, Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha and movies he has written are Bandipotu, Grahanam and Power.
M. V. Raghu is a cinematographer turned director, screenwriter and producer known for his works in Telugu cinema. In 1988, he directed the neo-realistic film Kallu, which received two Nandi Awards for Best Feature Film and Best First Film of a Director, apart from the Filmfare Award for Best Director and the Kala Sagar Award for Best New Director. He also won the Nandi Award for Best Cinematography for the film Siri Vennela.
He has worked in over fifty films as a cinematographer, has directed two films, the been Aarthanadam and has written the screenplay for Deeksha. A few of the notable movies he has worked on are Kshetram, W/O V.Varaprasad, Collector Garu, April 1 Vidudhala, Aalapana, Maharshi, Sirivennela, Anveshana, Swathi Muthyam, Magamaha Raju, Sitaara, Bhakta Kannappa.
Murali Nair is a director, screenwriter and producer. His film Marana Simhasanam was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Caméra d’Or.
The films that he has directed, deal with various social and culture issues within India. Some of the them are Virgin Goat, A Dog’s Day, Unni, Another Story of an Indian Child and Tragedy of an Indian Farmer. He has also written Laadli Laila, A Story That Begins At The End and Marana Simhasanam amongst others.
He is the co-founder of the production company Flying Elephants and has produced Pattiyude Divasam and Marana Simhasanam. He also worked on the popular TV series Chandrakanta earlier in his career.
B. V. Nandini Reddy is a Telugu film writer and director. Her debut film, Ala Modalaindi, was a huge hit and she won the Nandi Award for Best Debut Director for it. Other movies she directed are Jabardasth and Kalyana Vaibhogame. She wrote the screenplay for movies like Bus Stop and Yennamo Yedho.
She started off in the movie industry by working with Gangaraju Gunnam on his movie Little Soldiers in the direction department. Later she worked with Krishna Vamsi in his movie Chandralekha as an assistant director and become an integral part of Krishna Vamsi’s team before her directorial debut.
NEETA JAIN DAHUT
She has a M.A. in Linguistics and English from Delhi and an M.Phil. in Linguistics at the Sorbonne in France. After spending time as a translator and production coordinator for documentaries she chose to move into filmmaking herself and launched her own company called ‘Aur Kya Films’.
Her films O Bai , a short fiction film, and her creative documentary The Indian Knot were selected for a number of film festivals and were telecast in France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, USA and Canada.
Both these films were co-produced with a French TV channel called Arte. Along with these films she has also translated a number of books and articles. Currently, she is in the process of creating another documentary and writing the screenplay for a feature film.
Noelie Charles is a French filmmaker, art director, actress and assistant director. She made her first trip to India in 1999 and has travelled back and forth between France and India for her filmmaking assignments. She is an independent filmmaker and looks at making films that confront social issues.
After studying at the Fine Arts School in Bordeaux, she continues her studies by coming to India and studying at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
She has worked on a number of films like Aao and Patrakar Ka Vachar; and has also worked on the film Virgin Goat by Murali Nair. She also helped with a project for orphans from the SOS village and helped them create a film. Noelie is known for her work on Summers Downstairs, Looking for Hortense and The Dune.
P. C. SANATH
P.C. Sanath is the VFX Supervisor & Director of Firefly Creative Studio, and a very well-known name in the Telugu film industry.
Sanath began his career as a VFX supervisor back in 1997 and since then he has worked on numerous high profile projects including Telugu films like Anji, Arundhati, Magadheera and other blockbusters such as Shankar’s Robot and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. His also worked on S. S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus Bahubali, which is one of the most expensive films ever made in India.
Firefly is one of the biggest VFX companies in India. Some of Firefly’s projects are Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Anji, Robot and Magadheera. In 2005 Firefly won the National Award for Visual Effects.
Pratima Reddy is a freelance photographer from India. She specifically works with architecture and interiors, food and beverage, portraiture, and industrial photography. She has worked at Teja News as a reporting intern and at Spirit, a production house, where she handled cinematography, scripting and editing.
Some companies that have hired her services include Vedanta Aluminum Ltd, Food Stylist’s Handbook, Sunday Midday, BBC Good Food and N Asian. People she has worked with include Shaan for the cover of Score Magazine and Ranbir Kapoor for Magic Bus, an Indian NGO.
Preeya Nair is a director and producer. Her husband Murali Nair and she together founded the production company, Flying Elephants.
Films she has directed include Play and Quamer – Working to Live and Hear My Cry. As a producer she has been a part of many productions including A Different Life: Parts 1, 2 and 3, You Know What I Am Saying, Miracles of Faith, First Kiss, My Story, A Dog’s Day and Marana Simhasanam. She was also the production designer for the film Virgin Goat.
Preeya Nair’s film Quamer – Working to Live won the award for Best Short Film at the International Film Festival Los Angeles (2008), Dubai International Film Festival (2008) and Lucas International Film Festival – Germany. She also won the Human Rights Award Lola Kenya – Kenya 2008 and was shortlisted for a Children’s BAFTA Award UK in 2009.
Preeya Nair did her BA honors in Fine Arts with Distinction from the Chelsea School of Art and Design. She received her Post Graduation degree in Documentary Production and Direction in the National Film and Television School in England.
Priyadarshi Sahgal works in Advertising and Marketing. He worked with McCann Erikson and Lintas India Pvt. Ltd. as the Senior Brand Services Director and Branch Manager.
A Post Graduate Diploma from Film and Television Institute of India, Priya Krishnaswamy started her career with documentaries and short stories. Priya’s work includes the highly acclaimed Gangoobai, which she directed and edited.
Priyanka Suryaneni worked with Yash Raj Films and created critically acclaimed documentaries before co-founding Pensar Creations, a production company that produces corporate films, wedding films, television commercials, viral videos, documentary films, web series and short films.
Pushpa Bhaskar is a producer for television and radio shows. Her shows are focused on housewives and young adults. She has been a producer and presenter for Wave9 – the radio arm of TV9 – and presents Home Maker on a variety of topics of interest to working women and housewives.
In addition, she has worked as a presenter for Rainbow FM, KIDS.com, special segments for Parineeta, an exclusive women’s program and RJ training program at Radiocity. She is currently an RJ and Producer at Japa4 Entertainment Network Ltd. and presents segments dealing with health, child care, savings, investments and home budgeting.
Radhika Lavu is an entrepreneur and filmmaker. She has worked with HMRI (Health Management Research Institute) and Runway Reels before co-founding Pensar Creations, a production company that produces corporate films, wedding films, television commercials, viral videos, documentary films, web series and short films.
Rahul is a cinematographer in the Telugu film industry. He has been the operative cameraman for films like Ragada, Anukokunda Oka Roju, Kedi and Vikramarkudu. As a cinematographer, he is known for his wonderful cinematography and has worked on many films.
Rajendra Prasad is an Indian actor in the Telugu film industry. He is well known for his use of method acting and his portrayal of comedic roles in Telugu cinema.
Some of the films he is famous for are Quick Gun Murugun, Aa Naluguru, Aa Okkati Adakku, Mr. Pellam, April 1st Vidudhala and Ladies Tailor. He was awarded the Nandi Award for Best Actor in 1999 for Erra Mandaram and in 2004 for Aa Naluguru.
Ramesh Kolluri is an Indian film editor specifically in the Telugu film industry. He has worked on a number of films such as Alludiporu, Once More, Allari Pelli Koduku, Sandade Sandadi, Allare Allari, Ram Dev and many more.
Ribu Varughis is a television director and freelancer based out of Hyderabad, India. He is currently the Creative Head at Motifs TV and executed the prime-time show, It’s My Show featuring Prakash Raj as the anchor.
He has also been the Creative Head for SPTV and Aditya Music Channel. He has made films for the Government of Andhra Pradesh and has also worked on a variety of television projects.
Some of these projects include Champion on Zee TV, Jaanavule Nerajaanavule on Gemini TV, Star of A.P. on Gemini TV and Subhodayam on ETV Telugu.
R. P. PATNAIK
R.P. Patnaik is a music director and a playback singer for Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films. He also acted in the film Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi in which he played a blind singer.
In addition to this he made his directorial debut with the film Andamaina Manasulo which was critically acclaimed. His music in Santosham, Nuvvu Nenu and Excuse Me won him three Filmfare Awards.
A graduate in science and a postgraduate in Management from Osmania University, Hyderabad, Sanjay has gained around ten years of industry experience, especially in the media industry.
He has worked with various companies like Indian Express newspaper, Living Media India Limited (India Today Group), DNA newspaper and the Times Group. He has a passion for teaching and that made him move to academics in 2009.
He has worked with the Vignan Institute of Technology and Science (VITS), Hyderabad, and the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad previously.
Santhi Akkineni is involved in film direction, costume designing and styling. She has worked on a number of films such as Chakram, Lakshmi Kalyanam, Jai, Addhivishnu, Mestry and Young India.
In addition to this she has been the associate designer for the French series Rani, created costumes for Bharati: The Wonder That is India and Britz. She has also translated movies from Marathi and Tamil into Telugu and Telugu into English.
Satish Kasetty is an ad filmmaker and a director. He worked for Suresh Productions Pvt. Ltd., initially as a consultant for the hit film Kalisundam Raa. He also worked on a number of ad films dealing with women’s welfare and has made a number of documentaries on the real estate business.
In addition to this he also did fashion photography and created portfolios for actors and actresses like Diya Mirza, Simran, Vidya Naidu, Rohit, Rajesh, Charan, Shashi and Lavanya.
His film, Hope, was a National Award winning film and was the only Telugu film to be a part of the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India in 2008. His second film Kalavaramaye Madilo won the Nandi Award as the Third Best Film in 2009.
Seetharama has been a writer, creative director, co-director and assistant director. His six feature film credits include Aaa…Naluguru (winner of Nandi awards for Best Film, Actor and Supporting Actor) and Seetharamudu.
His experience in television include reality shows like Chikubuku Raile (Gemini), Lakshmi Talk Show (Zee Telugu), game shows like Am Aha Kam Kaha (Zee Telugu) and serials like Happy Days (Zee Telugu) and Sri Venkateshwara Mahatyam (SVBC TTD).
He has also written and directed many ad films, documentaries and short films. His co-directed the short film Me Meera which won first place at the Puri Film Festival.
Seetharama completed the Advance Film Direction Course at ZIMA and an Avid Editing Course from MAAC, both in Mumbai.
Sunil Bandi is a writer, producer and director. A qualified doctor, with an MBBS from JIPMER, Pondicherry, Sunil Bandi hails from a doctor’s family. It was expected that he would work as a doctor.
However, the filmmaking bug bit him in the second year of MBBS. Thereafter, he set about learning about films and filmmaking, by working on documentaries and assisting on short films.
Sunil Bandi made his foray into the Telugu film industry with Alalu (Tides). For his first venture, he chose not to cast any stars, which is unusual in these days. He has a couple of projects in various stages of production.
Swapnesh Chintala has been a part of the media industry since 2002. He has worked as a concept designer, program producer, programming manager and in-charge of a variety of departments.
As a starting point in his career he was part of the direction team for the film Teen Deewarein by Nagesh Kukunoor. He has worked as a program producer for Gemini TV, Manager for programming at South Parade and worked as a freelancer/ media consultant.
He began working at Maa Television Network and was the Senior Manager of Programming; currently he is the content head for digital and new media and is the head of monitoring quality control and research.
Tony Chapman is a news producer, corporate writer, video producer and trainer. At the start of his career he began working at the Victorian Premier’s Department as a media liaison officer after which he become a producer/journalist for HSV-7 in Melbourne for over two years.
He moved on to working at Special Broadcasting System as Executive Producer for the program Tonight for three years and later as Victorian TV coordinator for over six years. In 1997 he began working at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in news as the bureau chief and senior producer after which he became a freelance producer and writer. He then began working for ABC as a foreign correspondent.
In 2002 he went back to ABC as a TV producer for over four years. In 2008 Tony Chapman began working with the Satyam School of Leadership as a facilitator and trainer. Eventually he joined Mahindra Satyam as a manager and worked on strategic communications for the Mahindra Satyam Learning World.
Currently he is working as a corporate writer, video producer and trainer in Hyderabad, India with a focus on the IT industry. Tony Chapman received his B.A. in Visual Arts and Politics with a focus on cinema studies and politics.
UMA MAHESWARA RAO
Uma Maheswara Rao is a director and a writer in the Telugu film industry. The films he has directed are Sreekaram, Suryaputrulu, Mounam, Ankuram and Sindhoora.
His films have featured Jayasudha, Shoban Babu, Revathi, Aravind Swami, Om Puri and Charu Hassan. He won the National Award for his film Ankuram.
