Photography Courses – Bachelor’s Degree In Photography And Digital Imaging In India

Students explore the historical development of this field, discover modernist and contemporary theories of photography and learn the career skills that will prepare them for life as a professional photographer.

Photographs are now rarely used in their original formats. Photos are typically combined with video, graphics, animation and other design elements for presentation. Simply being a ‘photographer’ is no longer enough. Students learn both technical aspects and aesthetic skills to enhance their understanding of photography, to communicate their perspective to the world in such a way that it can be applied to any work of art.

Many photographers focus their careers within specific sub-sectors of the industry; each of which require particular knowledge and technical skills. These subjects immerse students in specialised fields, as they learn the history, jargon and photographic techniques that are required for success. Some of the sectors that may be available for students at AISFM include fashion, photojournalism, corporate and industrial photography, food and product photography.

Digital technology has transformed not only how we take photographs, but also how we store, edit, manage and distribute those images. In these subjects, students master the latest software for image management and editing and learn professional workflow strategies.

Career skills which are part of the curriculum include strategies for attracting and negotiating with clients, managing contracts, and navigating through the industry. We cover skills for both ‘art’ and commercial photography.
