A director is the driving force behind what gets delivered on screen. Our students will learn how to analyze a script, develop a directorial concept, pre-visualise the sequence of shots, work with actors, what shots to use, how to tell a story using moving images, the concepts of real time versus film time, how to block a scene and how to command a set to produce their vision on screen.
A great editor knows how to piece together the thousands of images and sounds that are captured during production to create an emotionally driven and captivating film. Editing students master post-production techniques through latest technology, used across the world. Students move from simple to complex editing, including advanced Digital Intermediate process, and then apply those lessons to their own projects at the end of their study.
A creaking door, the scream of a police siren, the howling of the wind! Sound can provoke emotions at a more primal level and thus, more powerful than images can. Hence, it’s an amazingly useful tool for directors to create a specific specific emotional response through sound design. Here students learn how to record sound on location, how to mix it in post-production to enhance the film’s overall viewing experience.Students not only learn sound designing, they also develop key skills in sound recording and sound editing as well.
Cinematographers excel in the use of light and movement. They can turn a dull, uninspiring image into a moving piece of art, with the help of perfect lighting, composition, framing and digital color correction in post-production. Students will master the handling of wide range of cameras, lighting equipment and cinematographic techniques, including camera motion, different lighting techniques and setups, lenses and filters.
