Nagarjuna Akkineni is a celebrated actor, producer, businessman and Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios. He is the the recipient of nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award-Special Mention for several Telugu blockbuster films like Ninne Pelladatha, Manmadhudu and Annamayya and is known best for his evergreen classics Gitanjali, Shiva, Manam and Soggade Chinni Nayana. His pan-India body of work & continued collaborations with regional, national & international talent spanning 35+ years in the industry brings in strong insights & industry linkages that shape the vision & mission of AISFM.
Venkat Akkineni is Chairman at Annapurna Studios and the Managing Director at AluFlouride Ltd. Between 1980-1994, under the banner of Annapurna Studios, he had spearheaded the production of 13 Telugu films and received the Filmfare award for best Film for the movie Shiva. He had founded one of the first animation companies in India, Heart Entertainment and Heart Animation Academy, in the 1990s. As Managing Director at Aluflouride, he is credited for new initiatives aimed towards expansion and scale. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, an MBA in Finance and has a strong entrepreneurial spirit. As Director and advisor on the board of multiple organizations including AISFM, he is known to bring in unique insights & perspectives, paving the way for new ideas and innovation.
Naga Susheela Anumolu
Naga Susheela Anumolu is a director at Annapurna studios. As the daughter of Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao, she is very invested in the dream of her father to establish a world-class film institute for the benefit of young talent who would like to pursue a career in cinema. She also serves as a trustee of Akkineni Janmabhoomi Development Trust, Akkineni Annapurna Charitable trust, Akkineni International Foundation and lends her support to several charitable causes.
Amala akkineni’s successful career in Indian cinema spans 50+ films as leading lady in five Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi). She continues to portray select roles in film and Television. She is an alumnus of Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts at Chennai and is a trained classical Bharatanatyam dancer. She has co-founded Blue Cross of Hyderabad, a 25-year old animal welfare organization and serves on the board of several NGOs and governmental organizations. In recognition of her invaluable contribution to social change and development of the country, she was presented the Indian government’s Nari Shakti Award. As Society Member & Director at AISFM, she has been the executive driving force for the vision and mission of AISFM.
Sumanth Kumar Yarlagadda
Sumanth (Born Sumanth Kumar Yarlagadda) is an actor/producer known for his work predominantly in Telugu cinema. After graduating from film school in Columbia College, Chicago, he began his acting career in 1999. Sumanth is known for his natural ease, portrayal of emotion and versatility in acting. He is most noted for starring in the hit feature films Sathyam, Gowri, Godavari, Golconda High School, and most recently, Malli Raava.
Annapurna is a designer who specializes in crafting innovative solutions. She is a masters graduate in Design Studies, Energy and Environment from Harvard University. She brings to our board an incredible diversity of professional experience spanning urban and rural India, the United States and France. Some notable companies she has worked with are CookFox Architects in New York, the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Design in Boston, the Materials Processes and Systems Group at Harvard University, Morphosis Architects in Los Angeles, Centre Pompidou in Paris and Nava Bharat Ventures in Hyderabad, India. Today, she designs lifestyle products, building products, art installations and buildings. Annapurna has the agility to work across scales and disciplines. Her unique ability to conduct in-depth research while thinking laterally has been central to providing solutions that link industries and influence positive social, environmental and economic change.
Sahithya Anumolu is the co-founder and program designer at Inqui-lab Foundation, a non-profit working towards nurturing a culture of creativity, design and innovation in public schools. Sahithya began her journey in the education sector as a Teach for India fellow in 2014 and is a graduate from BITS Pilani – Goa. Belonging to a family of actors & producers, she instinctively appreciates all things creative – whether cinema, literature or innovation. She believes in the cause of educational equity and brings to the table her dedicated belief and passion for quality education.
Akhil Akkineni is a film actor and young entrepreneur. At the age of 2, he had starred as the protagonist in the Children’s feature film Sisindri. Subsequently he had played lead roles in the feature films Manam, Akhil, Hello and Mr. Majnu. Akhil had received formal training in Method acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute. He is known for his dedication and passion towards his craft and the world of cinema. Apart from cinema, Akhil is a brand ambassador for several retail brands, strong supporter of Blue Cross of Hyderabad and a young entrepreneur with interests in sports, fitness and hospitality.
Supriya Yarlagadda is the Executive Director of Annapurna Studios. She started her career in Telugu Cinema in 1998 and went on to head the operations at Annapurna studios alongside production of a number of blockbuster films, notably Manmadhudu, Satyam, Manam and Soggade Chinni Nayana. From launching of new studio services to acting to TV & Film productions she has donned several successful hats and brings to the table her multifaceted experience and insight of the industry.
Anuradha comes with a total of 27 years of experience in the area of Human Resources. She has held several leadership positions in the corporate world with organizations like GE, IBM, Mphasis, Genpact and Deutsche Bank. She has worked with various schools in the area of Teacher Training Programs that address Emotional Intelligence, Concept Formation, and Student Counselling She has designed, developed and facilitated various teacher development programs and worked with organizations in the space of Design and Development of Learning Content. Anuradha has a Doctorate (PhD) in the area of English Literature from the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (India), a Diploma in Journalism, has been trained on Methods and Methodologies of Learning and Content Development, and holds a Diploma in the area of Experiential Education Practice. She is accredited on implementation of the Psychometric tools –MBTI, DISC and TMC Cultural Navigator.
